Conversations with Friends is probably my favorite story ever. While reading, I found myself deeply resonating with the main character, Frances, as she enters this wild love affair. The story delves into the complexities of relationships and self-discovery, following Frances and her former lover/best friend Bobbi as they navigate their young lives and become entangled with an older couple, Melissa and Nick. This novel is a nuanced portrayal of modern relationships and friendships and had me addicted from start to finish
A beautiful and heart-wrenching tale of love and sacrifice. Song of Achilles is a retelling of the Greek myth of Achilles and Patroclus as they explore the deep bond they share from childhood to the Trojan War. Madeline Miller creates a vivid telling of the ancient world and shows an intimate portrayal of heroism and the enduring power of love. This story will leave you full of emotion and imprint itself into your heart even long after you’ve read it.
A dark and compelling fantasy that follows Rin, a young orphan girl who desires greatness more than anything. Inspired by Chinese history and mythology, this trilogy is an incredible telling of war, power, and the cost of ambition, and is far from your average hero fantasy tale. The Poppy War trilogy is a must-read for fans of dark fantasy and epic adventure
The Throne of Glass series is a thrilling fantasy saga following Celaena Sardothien, a young assassin with a strong spirit and complicated past. I found myself utterly captivated by the series, often feeling the need to stand and run around my room in excitement or even fear while reading. This series has the power to deeply resonate with readers and change the way they perceive and love the fantasy genre
