Designing with Nature: The Story of the Amelia Island Plantation" with Dr. Taylor Clem
“Design with Nature,” is an influential book by one of the world’s most influential Landscape Architects of the 20th Century – Ian McHarg. McHarg’s “McHargian Analysis” process sought to balance the built environment with the natural environment. This process laid the foundations for modern design and planning techniques used by engineers, planners, designers, etc, and Amelia Island Plantation is part of that storied, influential history. Join Dr. Taylor Clem from UF/IFAS Extension Nassau County to learn about Ian McHarg, his work with Amelia Island Plantation, its global influence, and home communities can be designed with nature in mind.

The Amelia Island Plantation 50th Anniversary Photography Exhibit will be in the Story & Song Art Gallery throughout the month of May.

This is a FREE event, but spaces are limited. Refreshments will be served after the program.
