“The Golden Age of Dutch Art”
Artistic production flourished along with the robust economy in seventeenth century Holland. The burgeoning middle class expanded patronage and the demand for specialized subjects including portraits, still-lifes, landscapes, and domestic interiors. Print production thrived in many forms including political broadsides, cartoons, and satire, as seen in the current exhibition Fake News and Lying Pictures: Political Prints in the Dutch Republic. Hals, Rembrandt, and Vermeer, and selections from the museum’s collection will be among those considered from this incredibly rich period.

Purchase tickets at the Cummer Museum website beginning January 13. More events are scheduled for February 7 and February 14.
